What am I doing
How often do you wake up and think... great, I get to go to work today... well, I can't remember thinking that.
Nowadays, even my days off have become filled with the same dread... but that's because I'm keen to push myself to try crazy shit out... and that has consequences.
So in January 2017 I started running. That's not quite true, but let's pretend. I had been out and done sports, I ran as a teenager and hated it, and there was a reason why I started that New Years Day... I was raising funds for the Mountain Rescue team who had pulled me off a fell after I broke my leg Fell Running- more about that another time.
Yadda yadda yadda, get to the point - why should I read your blog... well over the last 2 years I've read a lot of books, followed a lot of races and there are some exceptional people out there. David Goggins talks about his desire to Uncommon amongst the Uncommon... and well he is almost unique and it got me thinking about this. I'm never going to win a race, but that doesn't mean I'm normal, doesn't mean I shouldn't push myself and doesn't mean you can't learn from my stupidity...
Being an Also Ran in any event means you're not normal... and that's me, Also ran and not normal... you might say Normally Uncommon.
